The client was a couple of artists who need a home that could maximize every space of their home to be functional and also a perfect space to support their profession. While the needs for more function of their home are more than the available space, a mezzanine structure is then selected as it was seen to be practical to support them.
The Drolet Structure
The renovation was undergone to recreate a space that can give two sections inside the which are a public and private area. This complex development was also required to still maintain the pre-existing a semi-opened style that has lots of sunshine in the daytime.
The development of this home seems to utilize custom made furniture since a mezzanine is a really complex design that needs to be strong and dynamic to the original space. The plywood was used in the entire space in this house as we can see them in the kitchen, staircase, and workshop.
Considering the needs of the clients, the modules of the storage are embedded in some areas and the kitchen seems to be a prominent space that has lots of it.
The project has been successful to create a living space and workshop that can suitable for their profession as it will help the artists to contribute their feeling and thought into beautiful visual works.
The complexion of the space was laid on the structure of the mezzanine that will provide owners with multiple spaces that supports their private and professional lives. The selection of the flooring technic which is utilizing epoxy layering is the best choice that makes the owner easier to maintain their house.
