The ideas for home design are really countless as they just push people to discover a more interesting style applied in different places in this world.

Located in Melbourne, Jindabyne Ave House is a brilliant house by Chan Architecture that takes the advantage of beautiful surrounding area that was also designed to adapt to the oceanic climate of southern Australia.

Balancing Look Exterior Style

The house structure was entirely new as the project was said to demolish the previous building on the site. In this new house, the design seems to accommodate the mandate for a functional family home that can gain the goodness of mother nature.

The facade of the house is very interesting as it almost outwits everyone for its distinction from most of western home facade models. The combination of the entrance door, garage door, and pathway to the house just looks very different as it is not so west.

However, the balancing look of this facade is very refreshing while it combines at least three characters which are natural, modern, and classic vibes on one side of the building.

The wooden display is set as the focal point in the facade of the house. It is counterbalancing the glass elements that shows off an upfront modern character in the upper area and left side area.

That rich wood element is also amazing as it was very well-crafted and well-finished. The timber batten cladding gives a texture to the right side of the house as it hides the garage door from the faraway view.

The garage door is not the only part that will steal people’s attention in this house since the entrance door will also provide the same unique design.

The jutted-in entry terrace is all covered by wood panels that have lighter finishing. The different wood types also make a rich display in this home area.

However, the nook seating in this part is something unique that is rare in many modern houses in western culture. The designer seemed to adopt an Asian character to the house so it would have a rich identity character that will make this house different and special.

Family-friendly Backyard

While the front side is very interesting with a balanced combination of wood and glass elements, the backyard has an exposed structure column that enhances a strong and sturdy character in this house.

The rich wood element gives domination in this area as the glass wall gives an extending view from the inside to the outside of the home.  The black-colored frame and structure are set as beautiful accents on this side while we are in this area as it is to kill monotonous feeling.

Connected to the backyard terrace, a modern kitchen and a living room are integrated into one area as an open concept. A large sliding door, that can be fully opened, and large glass wall disclose this interior space so that refreshing outdoor view is all time available from this space.

As it is in an oceanic climate area, the house is considered well-prepared since hot and cold temperature alternately in a year. To be an all-weather family house, there are two family living rooms inside the house. One of them is in an open space concept with the kitchen in the back area, and the other is on the front side of the house.

The front family living space is more enclosed than that in the backside. A fireplace in this other family space can provide perfect family time as they can do other fun activities.

The interior and exterior parts of this Jindabyne Ave House is equally finished as there is no strange feeling to feel different inside and outside vibes. Strong wood elements are dominating almost every part of this house while the enhancement of natural lighting can light up the glossy surface to look lavish and comfort.
