There were so many successful renovation projects that have shown us space maximization techniques. Most of them were done smartly to keep a high functionality home. As this another MKCA project, the Attic Transformer is surprisingly creative in creating such a modern and functioning dwelling in Manhattan’s West Village.

Having a compact size of only 225 sqf, this attic was created to support a limited number of dwellers but with high level of workability and functionality.  The designers seemed struggled to make sure everything available and working properly.

Numerous access for apartment functions were set to not take so much space to avoid cluttered scene inside the home. The solution that was done is impressively creative by using the non-livable attic space as imperceptible storage instead of leaving out the essential home elements.

An Interior Transformer Concept

The subdivision of this one floor apartment is all using custom fabricated elements that adopts contemporary style to enhance modern and young lifestyle probably desired by the clients.

The transformable interior is the most interesting part of this tiny loft. Pull out designs are used to keep away cluttered view while the owner wants more open space in his home.

The versatile dining table and working bench are interesting instances that use the unlivable attic part as storage while they are not needed.

The bed is also hidden on the wall in line with the dining and working table thus it make enough space for lounge while it is not used.

Young and Modern Interior Colors

Reviewing the interior colors, the background is set with neutral colors of white and grey. Bright interior scheme is approached to make the volume look wider and more livable.

Color selection is combining soft and bold style to express fashionable taste even in only tiny space.

Youth expression is then maintained to avoid boredom ambient by using pastel colored surfaces on the bed wall. Moreover, the enhancement of cozy sofa that enlightens the room ambiance is nicely paired with standing out tropical themed wall painting.

This is really a focal element on this side of the room to give more refreshments in this contemporary home.

Moving to another side of the loft, 180° color transition is really surprising. Bold accent is applied to the kitchen set and cabinet giving another character of strength and masculinity to the home.

The deep dark coloring seems contrast from a certain angle yet it actually works for creating crisp waking up since the floor is toned in ash grey.
